Are you allowed to mix the original yu-gi-oh cards with the gx ones?

I know that you can't mix with 5Ds as they're completely different, but i was wondering if you could mix the original yugioh cards with the yugioh gx cards. I assume yes as the backs of the cards are the same and they follow basically the same rules (except gx cards tend to have more and better effects). Also on the anime in gx yugis deck is used which contains old cards. I just want confirmation. Thanks Thank you for letting me know about the 5Ds cards. I would just like a simple "yes" or "no" answer also and please keep your opinions out of this, don't presume that i'm the one going to mix cards and the cards i have now i got a while ago, so to certain people shut the f#c# up, to others thanks...

1. What are you talking about? You can use all cards in the same deck. Gx and 5Ds are just titles of the anime. In the actual card game, the backs of all cards are the same, you can mix original cards with gx or 5D cards.
2. That is just in the show and time the cards are released. U can use all the cards that have been released so far. Hope i could help.
3. Sorry if i sound mean but it's like saying. "can i use the very first pokemon card it got in my new improved platinum EX deck?" in short the answer is yes.
4. Of course you can. There are no differences in the cards except for the name of 5D's. If you couldnt' join them, Yugioh would be ruined. Some old cards like "Mirror Force" can never be replaced. Make a deck with the cards that you've got and no-one can say otherwise. Hope this helps
5. Why wouldn't you be able to mix 5Ds with the original or 5Ds? They have the same backs and everything.
